Shoulder Pain

Shoulder Pain Treatment with our Houston, TX Chiropractors

At We Got Your Back Chiropractic Rehabilitation in Houston, TX, we don’t just have your back–we’ve got your shoulders as well! As one of the most flexible and most used joints in the human body, the shoulder is prone to many kinds of injury. We’ve put together the list below to help patients understand any shoulder pain they may have.

Dislocated Shoulder

The human body is amazing, and the shoulder may be one of its most amazing parts. Your shoulder is the most mobile joint in your body–which also makes it the most commonly dislocated joint. A dislocated shoulder can cause you to feel anything from numbness to intense shoulder pain. It’s also something a good chiropractor has plenty of experience treating.

Shoulder Bursae and Shoulder Bursitis

Bursae are small sacs of fluid in your joints that help keep movement smooth between the different bones of your joints. Shoulder bursitis occurs when the bursae become swollen. This can make movement difficult and cause shoulder pain.

Frozen Shoulder

If your shoulder is losing its range of movement, is experiencing pain when you try and move it, or once experienced pain but now is simply stuff, you may have frozen shoulder. This condition can go away on its own, but only after one to three years. A chiropractor can make it go away much more quickly!

Rotator Cuff Injury

Rotator cuff injuries are usually caused by repetitive motion over time–but can also be caused by a single instance of bodily trauma. It is common injury for carpenters, painters, and those in similar lines of work. It also happens frequently with baseball players and tennis players. A rotator injury will restrict your movement and sometimes even make your arm feel weaker. If your rotator cuff problems come from a single injury instead of repetitive motion, it’s important that you seek medical help immediately.

Strains & Sprains

Most doctors don’t make clear the different between a strain and a sprain. A strain occurs when your muscles or tendons stretch too far or tear, such as in the lower back. A sprain occurs when ligament–the tissue that connects one bone to another–is stretched too far or torn. The most common place for sprains is the ankle.

Tendinitis

This condition occurs when the tendons–the tissue that connects your muscles to bones–becomes inflamed. If you’ve ever had tennis elbow, swimmer’s shoulder, or jumper’s knee, you’ve had a kind of tendinitis.
